Castelrotto is a perfect base for visiting the numerous towns of Tuscany, Umbria and north Lazio which are famous for their beautiful landscapes and artistic and cultural heritage.

For art lovers, Castelrotto is in a perfect position for visiting many famous locations. It is halfway between Florence and Rome both of which can be reached in one hour. Arezzo and Perugia are only 50 minutes away and Orvieto can be reached in only 20 minutes on the A1 motorway.

Not far from Castelrotto is the town of Castello di Fighine (Fighine Castle) and also the famous Terme di San Casciano where the thermal waters have been flowing since Roman times and have been recently refurbished and enlarged around the portico which in 1600 was commissioned by the Grand Duke of Tuscany Ferdinando I. Today these thermal baths are highly popular with an elite tourism.

Other thermal locations in the neighbourhood are Chianciano which is famous for its healing properties for liver disorders and Bagno Vignoni which is a spectacular thermal location dating back from Etruscan and Roman times. Also worth visiting are Città della Pieve where Pietro Vannucci, otherwise known as "il Perugino" was born and where his paintings are still on view; Chiusi, an ancient Etruscan town where the National Etruscan Museum can be found; Montepulciano, a perfect example of a Renaissance town; and Pienza, the town designed by Enea Silvio Piccolomini. These are just some of the highlights in the neighbourhood of Castelrotto.
