Castelrotto, surrounded by vineyards and
olive groves, is an ideal location for a serene
vacation in the beautiful green hills of Tuscany.
The owners, Alberto and Gianna Mori, driven by their
genuine passion for the area in which they live
have carried out a careful restoration of the Castelrotto
complex, maintaining intact all the old charm while
adding all modern conveniences in the hope "of
generating a love that guests who come to Castelrotto
will share with us".
Not only is the world famous wine, Chianti dei Colli
Senesi, produced in this area, but the Mori family
still produces olive oil in the family press using
age-old methods.
The production of olive oil is an act of love which
perpetuates itself each year, and the Mori family's
press is the only remaining one driven by an animal
and with natural decantation still in existence
in Italy, and most probably in the whole of Europe.
Castelrotto is situated in a splendid position
geographically allowing visitors to easily reach
cities such as Rome, Florence, Siena, Perugia and
Orvieto and is also near to smaller "gems"
such as Città della Pieve, Chiusi, Montepulciano,
Pienza and Assisi.
