Castelrotto, which was owned by the Catholic
church until 1860 after which it was converted into
a farm house, has returned to its tradition of welcoming
passing travellers. There are still vestiges of
the ancient Roman road called the Cassia which led
to Rome and along which various materials used for
the construction of the cathedral of Orvieto were
transported.

Two regions blend harmoniously together in the Castelrotto
panorama and the two buildings called "Canipaia"
and "Roggio", in memory of the
ancient language used by local farmworkers, have
been restored rigorously applying local materials
and traditions.

THE "CANIPAIA" AND THE "ROGGIO"
The Castelrotto complex is composed of "homes"
in the true sense of the word.
The kitchens, lounges and bedrooms are all different
from each other but all share the same attention
to detail. The choice of the furnishings closely
follows the tradition of the rustic Tuscan style
using natural materials (terracotta, wrought iron,
wood and fabrics).
To ensure the complete comfort of its guests each
house is equipped with washing machine, dishwasher
and satellite TV.
The swimming pool, heated by solar energy, is at
our guests disposal from May onwards.
